The combined industrial heritage conference and networking event at Wheal Martyn Museum this year celebrates some of the many links between Cornwall’s mining industry and the world, both historically and today.
The conference keynote speaker is Dr Sharron P Schwartz, Project Development Officer and Heritage Consultant at ERA-Maptec Ltd., who will be starting proceedings with ‘The Cornish in Latin America: how ‘Cousin Jack’ conquered the mining world’. This promises to provide a fascinating insight into this previously overlooked area of Cornish mining migration studies.
An Industrial Heritage Subject Specialist Network event, the conference takes place from 9.45 to 4.15 on Friday 17th March (with arrival from 9.30) and costs £20 per delegate (including refreshments and lunch).
